Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
The drug contains 0.25% levomycetin and 0.02% furacilin as active ingredients.Bars eye drops fall into combined antibacterial broad-spectrum ophthalmological drugs. Levomycetin is active against most gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, several viruses, bacterial strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin and sulfanilamides. Furacilin provide broad-spectrum bacteriostatic and antibacterial effect on pathogenic microorganisms.
After instillation in conjunctival cavity the drug easy penetrates in eye tissues providing stable therapeutic level of active ingredients.
Indications
Use Bars eye drops for treatment and prevention of acute and chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, and blepharitis, as well as for prevention of eye infectious diseases after traumas and foreign matters in dogs, cats and ornamental rabbits.Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components.Dosage and administration
In order to remove exudate, before administration perform previous eye cleaning with a sterile gauze pad moistened with the drug. Then instill 1-2 drops of Bars drops in conjunctival cavity (for 3-4 times a day within 7-14 days). Repeat treatment course, as appropriate.Prevention: once a day perform eye cleaning with a sterile gauze pad moistened with the drug.
Adverse events
Adverse events and complications are not observed in case of administration as per package insert. Stop drug administration in case of increased individual sensitivity to active drug ingredients and frank irritation.Storage
Store carefully. Protect from light. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 0-25°С. Shelf life is 2 years from manufacturing date. After opening store a bottle in refrigerator up to 30 days.Pharmaceutical form
