Chemical composition and pharmacological propertiesThe drug contains 0.25% levomycetin and 0.02% furacilin as active ingredients.
Bars eye drops fall into combined antibacterial broad-spectrum ophthalmological drugs. Levomycetin is active against most gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, several viruses, bacterial strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin and sulfanilamides. Furacilin provide broad-spectrum bacteriostatic and antibacterial effect on pathogenic microorganisms.
After instillation in conjunctival cavity the drug easy penetrates in eye tissues providing stable therapeutic level of active ingredients.
IndicationsUse Bars eye drops for treatment and prevention of acute and chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, and blepharitis, as well as for prevention of eye infectious diseases after traumas and foreign matters in dogs, cats and ornamental rabbits.
ContraindicationsIncreased individual sensitivity to the drug components.
Dosage and administrationIn order to remove exudate, before administration perform previous eye cleaning with a sterile gauze pad moistened with the drug. Then instill 1-2 drops of Bars drops in conjunctival cavity (for 3-4 times a day within 7-14 days). Repeat treatment course, as appropriate.
Prevention: once a day perform eye cleaning with a sterile gauze pad moistened with the drug.
