Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
The drug contains 0.31% furacilin and 0.46% aethonium as active ingredients, as well as excipients. Ranosol is desinfection and antiseptic drug for external use.Furacilin is nitrofuran antimicrobial drug providing effect on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as on several viruses and protozoans.
Aethonium is a quaternary ammonium compound providing bacteriostatic and antibacterial effect on streptococci, staphylococci and other microorganisms. It promotes detoxicating impact on staphylococcal toxin. Local anesthetic activity promotes wound healing.
Indications
Use Ranosol in dogs, cats, fur animals, ornamental rodents, as well as for sporting horses and ponies to treat wounds (aseptic, infected, surgical), processing of funicle and tail stump, primary processing of scratches, racomas, flesh-wounds and other small traumatic injuries, skin sterilization (surgical site).Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components.Dosage and administration
Apply Ranosol with a tampon on affected skin areas or spray it from a distance of 15-20 cm. Depending on size of wounds and fistulas, amount of solution must be sufficient to moisturize affected surface completely in the light of leakages and wound cavities. Perform a processing every day till complete wound cleaning from purulo-necrotic masses. After beginning of granulation and healing apply the drug once in 2-3 days. Treatment course is 7-14 days. Apply a single dose of the drug to sterilize skin or process fresh wounds.Adverse events
In case of increased individual sensitivity and allergic reactions, administer antihistaminic and symptomatic drugs.Storage
Store Ranosol in closed original package far away from heaters and open flame. Protect from light. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 0-30°С. Shelf life is 2 years from manufacturing date.Pharmaceutical form
