Reptilife suspension for oral use
- The first drug against reptile helminthiases.
- High efficiency.
- Broad-spectrum antihelmintic effect.
Chemical composition and pharmacological properties1 ml of Reptilife® suspension contains albendazole - 25 mg and praziquantel - 10 mg (as active ingredients), as well as excipients.
The drug has broad-spectrum nematodocidic and cestodocidic effect on gastrointestinal roundworms (Alaeuris numidica, Alaeuris iguanae, Angusticaecum holopterum, Macracis prolixa, Tachygonetria conica, Tachygonetria dentata, Tachygonetria macrolaimus, Tachygonetria robusta, Tachygonetria dentata, Ozolaimus megatyphon, Oxyuris cirratus, Pseudalaeuris spp.) and cestodes (Oochoristica spp.) parasitizing reptiles.
Mechanism of albendazole action (a component of the drug) includes disorder of carbohydrate metabolism and microtubular function in worms causing death and excretion of parasites.
Mechanism of praziquantel action is based on damage of glucose transport and microtubular function in cestodes, inhibition of fumarate reductase activity and ATP synthesis, increase in cellular membrane permeability and muscular innervation disorder leading to death of parasites.
IndicationsUse to treat and prevent nematodosis and cestodiasis in tortoises, lizards and snakes.
ContraindicationsIncreased individual sensitivity to the drug active ingredients. Do not use in reptiles during egg-laying period or pregnancy (live-bearing ones), as well as in combination with other antihelmintic drugs.
